Lenovo ThinkCentre M55e
Getting down to business with the Lenovo ThinkCentre M55e Desktop PC

I guess I should just charge out of the gate with the first surprise in store for new owners of the Lenovo ThinkCentre M55e. There is no need to continue to squint your career away with the use of a brand new 22 inch LCD on your desktop (slightly higher pricing). The very best Intel Inside including the latest Core 2 Duo and integrated GMA 3000 graphics chips. As has always been the case with the ThinkCentre line, the chasis is easily services and the casing is a breeze to get to, though not tooless. There is a standard 3 year service warranty on all parts and labor, (versus the industry standard one year), and of course ThinkVantage, the Lenovo software suite that makes for care and maintenance of your new desktop PC simple.

Depending on the needs for your business, there are several form configurations to choose from. The M55e comes in a full tower (server sized), mid sized desktop, small form factor and ultra small form factor. You also have the ability to choose between different processor sets if you wish. You can choose between the P4, The Celeron D, or the Pentium D line of CPU. Most configurations are now shipping with Windows7 and Vista, but the XP operating system has been a configuration option in the past, and will work on the hardware.

While the upgraded hardware is nice, other than keeping up with the times, there is little to be talked about when it comes to the Lenovo ThinkCentre line, and the new models. The ThnikCentre has always been at the pinnacle of business desktop building, and the new M55e does nothing to shake that foundation. The only complaint that I did have, was that the unit I reviewed was shipped with a default DVD/CD-RW drive, and while it might seem appropriate, very few businesses will be looking for anything less than a DVD burner, if not Blu-Ray in the very near future, so I would like mine now.
