 HP Compaq DC7800 ultra slim
Multimedia Computer review - the HP Compaq DC7800 ultra slim desktop

HP has always been known as a technological leader. It is no wonder that it is the company to create one of the few multimedia PCs to satisfy both the environmentally friendly and the power user. The HP Compaq DC7800 ultra slim desktop carries a powerful computing punch, as well as having one of the smallest environmental footprints of a desktop PC. Centered around the 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E6750 CPU, a dual layer DVD burner, 8 USB ports and an integrated Intel GMA 3100 graphics processor, this ultra slim desktop is perfect for consumer and business workstations, while priced at just over $1000 making it an affordable workstation solution. The DC 7800 is also EPEAT Silver certified, energy Star 4.0 certified, and its PSU is 80+ certified, making it extremely energy-efficient. Made of 90% recyclable materials, this workstation PC is designed not only for long use, but also for efficient recycling at its life's end.

Though this desktop PC is definitely environmentally sound, it is also a space saver and a very capable multimedia PC. Whether home or in the office, its full power E6750 processor shines through in overall productivity and speed. Though its performance is not quite as spectacular as its close cousin, the Dell OptiPlex, increasing the standard 1 GB of memory to 2 ($100-$150 upgrade) goes a long way toward removing any shortcomings of this business system.

The DC 7800 pounds in three standard models. The convertible Mini Tower and the small form factor models should be considered if upgrade availability and expansion are on the top of your wish list. If saving space, saving money, and saving the world are at the top of your list, then you need not look any further than the HP Compaq DC 7800 ultra slim desktop as your next computer.
