Velocity Micro Edge E2250
The Velocity Micro Edge E2250 family gaming and home desktop at its best

The Velocity Micro Edge E2250 Home Gaming review - It is extremely reasonable in price, coming complete with a cardboard box for less than $2000. It has enough common sense to double as a home desktop PC that is great for school work or extracurricular business, and can even function as a home theater entertainment system capable of playing your favorite DVD movies. Especially when considering the car salesmanship so common in the home consumer budget PC market, it is refreshing to be able to say that the computer reviewed today is a great deal. If you want a better system than this one, then be prepared to pay more for it.

The housing comprises of an aluminum frame and clear plastic side panels for easy viewing and light handling without a sacrifice in solidity. The side panels also double as great showmen, displaying your over sized cooler and overclocked Q9450 CPU. The look is risque enough for the gaming teenager, but not so garish as to make mom want to hide it in the living room closet. The spicing up of the software additions to the Velocity Micro Edge gaming PC were in line with the aesthetic design. The Software added was either a complete default in the industry or was actually useful for the gaming computer PC user. Of course it came with the big names, like Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader and Flash, but also came with 3DMark06 Basic. Who couldn't use a little freeware for benchmarking your new nVidia GeForce 9800 GX2 GPU.

Speaking of benchmarking, this budget gaming desktop PC may come with a small price tag, but the gaming class GPU and overclocked processor allow for many hours of rapid FPS game play. It comes complete with a 750 GB hard drive for storage, so using it for home video editing is also possible. The zealous might want to pop in another GX2 in the available PCIe x16 slot, but the 500 Watt PSU might have to hold you back. Other than that, if you want a PC that you can use as a general purpose home gaming PC or HTPC with a little flare, then you found it. If you can afford more money, or wish to do some serious expansion (other then add a few hard drives), then I would jump up a class of computers and get a full blown gaming rig or a completely white hat box. This one is for the whole family.
