MagicMC Uberous X58
Is the MagicMC Uberous X58 SLI/CrossfireX the best gaming system money can buy?

Much like the famous 1969 GTO, the MagicMC Uberous X58 is a muscle car of gaming system. The belly of the beast comprises an Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition CPU, overclocked to an amazing 3.7 GHz (from 3.2). Figure in two massive dual GPU ATI RAdeon HD 4780 X2 graphics cards, and you should have a recipe for some extreme pixel pushing! Definitely the Uberous is to be considered a big ticket item at almost $5000 out the door, and the addition of a 10,000 rpm C: drive, a full TB for D: or E:, and the included Blu-Ray burner verify this pedigree. These features alone are cause for price tag justification. For those persons who having the biggest and most expensive gaming stem on the block are not enough, the seemingly endless ability to update this gaming PC is a godsend. In fact, without even considering space, you can slap in an extra 10 hard drives, a couple more optical drives, a PCI or PCIe x8, an extra PSU to power at all, and three more DIMM memory sticks, just so you never run out of memory. Don't forget all of this is in addition to the already incredible data storage capability that comes default with over-the-top gaming PC.

But how does this gaming system compare after the bragging rights for over? Truthfully, we were slightly disappointed. While the X58 might seem like a muscleman on the beach at first sight, it turned out not be quite as strong as it looked. With a price tag of almost $5000 you expect this gaming system to be part of a line if not the best in its class. The definitely nothing to scoff at, during performance testing the Uberous X58 disclosed that it was lacking bang for the buck. While it excelled at higher resolutions, even desktop systems $3000 cheaper such as the Dell studio XPS 435 was able to outperform it at lower resolution rates. Bottom line? For high- resolution display this gaming system holds its own against comparable systems, that cost thousands less.
