The Falcon Northwest Gaming personal computer - super space saving gaming computer in a miniature container

Falcon Northwest FragBox QX9650
The Falcon Northwest FragBox QX9650 Big Gaming computer with small form factor

Another Yorkfield XE-based screamer is the Falcon Northwest FragBox QX9650. Though the QX9650 comes in a small package, it is far from a small fry when it comes to performance. with a CPU overclocked to 3.8 MHz and a super pixel shredding ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 with two GPUs, there is no reason for this gaming computer to even consider getting a Napoleon complex, and with a price tag of under $5000, even with a custom "rain" paint job, is a great bargain for the power and style it provides. Similar systems can easily go for 5-$8000, or even more.

Complete with a 1TB hard drive and 4 GB of DDR2 memory, there will be little need for an immediate upgrade, and good thing, as there is no room in the small form factor case to expand on any level. The case can barely house the components that come standard, but to its benefit,it still maintains Falcon Northwest's tradition of keeping a clean box, both inside and out. The wiring harness is unobtrusive and remains neat and tidy if you ever have to venture within, and the exterior design is sleek and clean.

Coupled with a 22" Samsung monitor, and a sensitivity change-on-the-fly Logitech G15 gaming computer mouse, the message comes across loud and clear. Though this wonderful little toy may look like an office computer with a pretty paint job, on the outside, it is indeed a serious gaming PC, and not for menial tasks such as spreadsheet creation of word processing.

While I would have liked to see this system with a little more RAM, currently possessing 4GB, for a small form factor PC with a big gaming punch, the amount of goodies it contains is limited without being limiting. If you are looking for a gaming computer that can be taken from frag tourney to frag tourney (luckily there are no delicate water cooling systems to complicate the move), then this 3D powerhouse is the perfect box. For someone who is serious about their gaming performance, but also knows how to save a few dollars, pound for pound and dollar for dollar, this gaming computer is rich in features and capability.
