Utilizing 4 physical cores, The Intel Core2 Quad CPU delivers amazing performance and power efficiency. With a super fast 1333MHz FSB and up to 2X6MB L2 Cache, the Intel core2 Quad CPU is built for speed, and the new, smaller, more efficient 45nm manufacturing architecture keeps it all cool and quiet.

The Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 - Efficiency fuels it fire!

The Intel Extreme QX9650 is for the computer gamer CPU who has trick up his sleeve. This Intel Core 2 CPU has huge performance gains over its previous edition, the QX6850, but doesn't achieve them with more extreme overclocking, or the addition of a larger hotter running chip design. It does it by completely redesigning, with efficiency in mind from the start, by moving to a 45 nanometer (nm) design. The only thing that was "enlarged", was the L2 Cache, at 2X6MB, up from 2X4MB, which I have to admit, did probably add improvement to near perfection. This major change allowed for a more efficient Intel computer processor, or any other company for that matter, that uses the older 65-nanometer specs as the new high.....

The Quad Core Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 3GHz of unlocked pleasure

The Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 is our quad core enthusiast favorite, for now. It is a 64-bit processor overclocked right at the big 3GHz line. To add to your excitement, this is not only already highly overclocked, but Intel has unlocked the multiplier and other CPU features so that hobbyists and power abusers can tweak it to their hearts content. It sits in LGA775 Sockets so a new motherboard might not even be necessary, which comes in handy when paying $999-$1400 for the Intel Core 2 CPU alone....

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 - When a core 2 is actually a Core 4

This Intel Core 2 CPU is actually not a dual core processor at all, but has a total of 4 physical cores. This quad core processor is labeled Extreme for a reason. It it an unlocked overclocking masterpiece coming in at a default 2.66 GHz. If that is not good enough for you, the multiplier is unlocked, o you can tweak it to your liking. The TDP is 130W, so you might have more room to play with the addition of an aftermarket heat sink....

The Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9650 - Change can be hard, the Q9650 makes it a lot easier

The Intel CPU core 2 Quad Q9650 is not the only 45 nm design out there for your to choose from, and for the new build inclined, you might be hungry for a complete upgrade to the i7 platform with three channel memory and the need for a new, rather pricey motherboard. The platform is sure to mature and be surpassed long after the socket775 CPU market is forgotten, so it makes for a good landmark CPU choice, but mainly for the future proofing of the socket setup....

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S - Can you say HTPC now?

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S has a very good reason for existence. Not eveyone is ready to move up to the X58 platform in order to get the i7 to take advantage of Hyperthreading and Intel Turbo Boost Technology, but would love to grab onto the quad Core CPU. The Quad Core2 CPU Q9550 family was made just for you. Even the S series, which targets small box and efficiency enthusiasts with its lower TDP value (and of course the HTPC manufacturing sectors), it is less expensive than an X58/CPU combo, with similar results in single thread and quad core testing....

Trouncing AMD Phenom with the Intel Core2 Quad 9300

Though a little pricier than the AMD Phenom, this Intel computer processor rightly triumphs over it in benchmarking. You get what you pay for in this case. The good thing is that it not only way out perform the competition for a little extra dough, it also saves you a lot of money when compared to the next in line winning AMD killers of its own family, the Q9950. The Q9550 will set you back a little over $600, so to get close to the same performance for $300 and a little overclocking makes it a much more attractive Intel Core2 Quad CPU....

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400, another Quad Core 2 LGA775 saver

The Intel Core2 Quad Q8400 has 2MB of L2 cache instead of the 4MB found in the Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400. All of the other specs are the same, until you reach the price, which is the cost of a meal or two ($35). While the extra cache in the Q9400 is indeed a performance breaker between the two, a little overclocking on the part of the Q8400 closed the performance gap quite well....
