ASUS P7H55D-M EVO Motherboard Review - Integrated CPU side graphics for HTPCs

The ASUS P7H55D-M EVO motherboard is a great example of how the one size fits all concept can be perfected. I love the feature set of this Intel H55 Express chip set based HTPC or home/business/light gaming all purpose PC platform. It is energy efficient, sports DVI-D, true HDM, Integrated Intel GMA HD and PCI Express x16 2.0 x1 as well, making for the perfect HTPC, light gaming central nervous system when paired the right high powered LGA-1156 socket Intel computer processor.

It can handle up to 16 GB of dual channel DDR3 at up to 4.8GT/second making for very fast performance. This should be more than enough room for memory expansion for most home or business consumers. USB 3.0 is a nice touch for all of us thumdrive and gadget slaves the world over.

For the enthusiast in you, the ASUS P7H55D-M EVO is a simple overclock. Getting over 100MHz in graphic leeway is a nice roomy comfort zone to play with and this otherboard will easily reach that one and a half times over. Speaking of graphics, one of the best features of this Intel based LGA-1156 socket board is that the ASUS P7H55-M EVO supports the Clarksdale GMA integrated Intel CPUs. No more Northbridge, No more graphics cards. Well, almost. The marathon gamer in you will want to go out and get yourself an external video card, but for normal business and home HTPC, light gaming scenarios on board CPU graphics has finally come of age. Overclockers may no longer have to overtax their fan systems due to the removal of the Northbridge and the heat it used to produce. The display controller is still there, its just now in the H55 chip, so even if you don't have a new Clarksdale, the graphics systems are still available.

If you are looking for a Clarksdale integrated graphic CPU, but haven't a decided on a motherboard to pair it with, the ASUS P7H55D-M EVO is a solid election to consider.
