The AMD Phenom X4 Quad-Core 9500 (2.2GHz) is able to handle data efficiently, and cheaper than the Intel chips, while it still manage to run through better in performance needs.

AMD Phenom 9500

The AMD Phenom 9500 processor for multitasking options

The AMD Phenom 9500 processor comes with 2MB of shared L3 cache, Cool’n’Quiet 2.0 technology for low-power operation, the fast Hyper Transport 3.0 bus and support for 1067MHz DDR 2 memory. It is noted that Phenom is the one to launch the four cores that all share at least one level of cache and the dynamic distribution of work is an added advantage of AMD Phenom processors.

The 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 is a competitive model that has been tested against the AMD Phenom 9500.It tested quite high but still it has just been very little below the Intel but does lag behind in few areas of performance. The significant detailing of the AMD 9500 includes, clock speed of 2.2 GHz, 2MB of L2 and L3 cache. And in Quad Q6600 it supported with 2.4 GHz.

The AMD test bed configuration shows, Windows Vista Ultimate; Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe motherboard; 2GB 1,066MHz Crucial Ballistix DDR2 SDRAM; 74GB Western Digital Raptor 10,000 rpm hard drive; 512MB ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT graphics card. This high model is perfect for multitasking (Phenom ii CPU), the benchmark test shows few drawbacks only when compared to the Intel chip.

With normal pricing the AMD Phenom 9500 is about average, but Intel option delivers better performance at standard clock speeds and will overclock. The AMD Phenom x4 processor reviews shows that Phenom would lose performance when it was plugged into the AM2 Gigabyte with previous-generation AMD 690 chipsets.
